Alien evolution and habitability of other planets

Welcome! "Alien Life" tracks the latest discoveries and thoughts in the various elements of the famous Drake Equation. Here's today's news:
g Stars - What Einstein called his worst mistake, scientists are now depending on to help explain the universe. See article.
g Abodes - Science fiction lovers aren't the only ones captivated by the possibility of colonizing another planet. Scientists are engaging in numerous research projects that focus on determining how habitable other planets are for life. See article.
g Life - What can we predict about alien evolution before our interstellar explorers finally make landfall on a new world? See article.
g Cosmicus - The ever-expanding human population will continue to impact the habitability of our planet into the future. But moving humans from Earth into the final frontier carries an environmental cost as well. See article.
g Aftermath - For one futurist’s thoughts about what will happen to humanity when we make first contact with aliens, click here. I offer this site not for its scientific rigor but as an example of something all of us who care about astrobiology should consider: What are the trends in popular culture about first contact? Such thinking will greatly influence public reaction when first contact actually does occur.

Actually aliens from other planets have been visiting Earth for many centuries now. A secret group in the US government has already been in contact with them. It is the US military/intelligence community that does not want the truth about advanced aliens visiting from outer space to be revealed, since that would undermine US military and economic dominance of the world. The agencies have spread disinformation about aliens trying to make them seem dangerous. This elaborate coverup has been going on for almost 60 years. See ufocoverup.org for more info

I'm willing to acknowledge that an extremely small minority of UFO sightings may indeed be alien probes sent to check out our planet. Certainly if we had the technology, we would do the same to alien worlds.

But a conspiracy? Nevermind that the U.S. government probably is too incompetent of a body to successfully engage in such a coverup that would involve tens of thousands of people over six decades. Afterall, we are talking about a bureaucracy that sometimes can't send a Social Security to the right address.

To truly prove alien visitation, there must be irrefutable evidence - and if aliens are visiting as frequently as those claiming a coverup say, then physical evidence for all to see should exist. But it doesn't.

Take alien abductions. It would be simple to prove: Train three video cameras around-the-clock on a person who claims to be a victim of multiple abductions. On those cameras train three more video cameras that also operate around-the-clock. The people operating the video cameras should have respectable credentials, meaning no mysterious or shady histories. Should any of the first set of cameras fail, then the back-up cameras would record what happened to them and be moved up to the front line. Once a UFO descended and the Greys brought the abductee to their craft, they would be recorded by multiple cameras with multiple witnesses at the scene.

Now conduct this experiment simultaneously on numerous abductees. If numerous abductions occur, then we have proof of alien visitation and abductions (rather than a possible one-time hoax).

Certainly some abductees desperate to know the truth would agree to such an invasion of their privacy. Certainly there is someone wealthy enough who believes in a coverup who would finance such a project. Certainly volunteers to operate the video cameras would be easy to find (especially in this economy).

So that's my challenge to UFO/alien visitation proponents: Conduct some scientific experiments that deliver empirical evidence. It's that simple.
