Searching for habstars, waiting for another Einstein and identifying lunar outpost sites

Her database of potentially habitable star systems could be used as a target list for NASA's forthcoming Terrestrial Planet Finder mission. Turnbull presented a talk, "Remote Sensing of Life and Habitable Worlds: Habstars, Earthshine and TPF," at a NASA Forum for Astrobiology Research on March 14. g Life – University of Colorado scientists have found bacteria that live in the rocks of a hot, acidic environment in Yellowstone National Park. Domino solar eruptions, moon base and life in extreme gravity

New type of star cluster and noncorporeal life

The new found clusters contain hundreds of thousands of stars, a similar number to the so-called "globular" star clusters which have long been familiar to astronomers. See article.

Gamma-ray extinction, galactic probes and Star Trek biology

Starburst galaxies, organic relics and cloud creatures

g Stars – A team of European scientists has used Virtual Observatories to compare observations of distant "starburst" galaxies made at radio and X-ray wavelengths. This is the first study to combine the highest resolution and sensitivity radio and X-ray images that penetrate the dust hiding the centers of some of these distant galaxies. See article.
g Abodes – Injecting synthetic "super" greenhouse gases into the Martian atmosphere could raise the planet's temperature enough to melt its polar ice caps and create conditions suitable for sustaining biological life. Supernova wind, solar systems with earths and artificial intelligence (part II)

Ice Age tilt, evolving intelligence and cyborgs
